Dear Jeff,
I can't thank you enough and as a follup-up to our initial meeting. I want to inform you that I met with my pool builder yesterday and explained the entire circumstances regarding how I, along with your technical help came about to discover that his personnel had inadvertently and mistakenly plumbed the bottom suction drains incorrectly. I also explained the resulting and potentially damaging affect to the one good suction drain that the test plug may have caused because of his mistake. I calmly expressed my anger at the potentially dangerous and unsafe condition this mistake created unbeknownst to anyone and how it may have continued for the life of the pool had I not been persistent about the perceived water loss I suspected. He sat and listened without interrupting me and when I told him that this needed to be corrected by him, he apologized for his workers mistake and told me he would fix everything immediately. He's starting this Wednesday with no cost to me, period. He is even taking responsibility for the leaking waterfall line, even though it may have been cracked during the period when my landscaper was back filling the pool and constructing the waterfall.
My wife tells me that I always see the glass half full, and she's right, I do. She also knew that my pool builder would do right by his customers, and again she's right. It was an honest mistake, luckily no one got hurt and it’s a lesson learned in life. Deep down I knew my pool builder would do the right thing. He's an excellent business man from what I've experienced throughout the entire purchasing and construction process, and his reputation speaks for itself.
I want to thank you for the work you performed and the technical expertise you displayed with not only finding four holes in the liner and patching them promptly, but also the pressure testing of the lines that ultimately lead to further investigations. Your suggestion of plugging the suspected leaking line to protect my best interests until the repair was made was invaluable in the discovery of a potentially deadly problem. Without that, I would be none the wiser and the dangerous condition would have gone undetected. You truly detected a major "construction leak" in my pool. And for that, I thank you on behave of my wife and kids.
Sincerely,
Alex
